Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of UnlockSFX (the "Service"), operated by Daniel Montag ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Credits and payments

Sound generation uses credits. New accounts receive a limited number of free credits. Additional credits are sold in one-time packs and are not subscriptions. Prices are shown at checkout and processed by our payment provider, Stripe.

Credits are a prepaid license to use the Service and have no cash value. Except where required by law, purchased credits are non-refundable. Credits are consumed when a sound is successfully generated; a failed or blocked generation does not consume a credit.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to generate content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, hateful, or abusive, or to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its providers. We may apply rate limits and may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Your license to generated sounds

Subject to these Terms and our License page, generated sounds are licensed to you on a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive basis for use in your commercial and personal projects, with no attribution required. You may not resell or redistribute the raw sound files as standalone assets or use them to build a competing sound-generation or sound-library product.

6. Third-party providers

The Service generates audio using third-party AI providers and relies on third-party infrastructure for hosting, storage, and payments. Your use may also be subject to those providers' terms where applicable. We are not responsible for outages or changes in third-party services.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we disclaim all implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.
