Privacy Policy

How UnlockSFX collects, uses, and protects your data.

Last updated: June 22, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how UnlockSFX, operated by Daniel Montag, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Service. We aim to collect only what we need to run the product.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your email address and display name when you sign up.

Usage data: the prompts and settings you submit to generate sounds, the sounds generated, your credit balance and ledger, and basic activity such as last-seen time.

Payment information: when you buy credits, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive purchase records (amount, status, identifiers) but never see or store your full card details.

Technical data: standard server logs and, if enabled, aggregate analytics about how the Service is used.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to operate the Service: to authenticate you, generate and store your sounds, apply and track credits, process purchases, prevent abuse and enforce rate limits, provide support, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers

We share data with the providers that power the Service, only as needed: Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage), Stripe (payments), and our AI audio provider, ElevenLabs (which receives your prompt text and generation settings to produce sounds). These providers process data under their own privacy and security terms.

5. AI sound generation and your data

Sound effects are produced by our third-party AI audio provider, ElevenLabs. When you generate a sound, only the prompt text and generation settings are sent to ElevenLabs — through our own systems and authenticated with UnlockSFX's account credentials. Your personal information, including your email address, account identifier, and IP address, is never shared with the provider, so your individual identity is not exposed to it.

We have opted out of ElevenLabs using content submitted through our account to train or improve its AI models. ElevenLabs additionally maintains contractual commitments that prohibit its own underlying model providers from training on customer content.

Sounds you generate are produced by ElevenLabs, which may retain a record of the generation under its own privacy and retention policies; that retention is outside our control. Within UnlockSFX, your sounds are stored in your own library, where you can play, download, or delete them at any time.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data and generated sounds while your account is active. You can delete individual sounds at any time. If you want your account and associated data deleted, email us and we will remove it, subject to records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (such as purchase history).

7. Your choices and rights

You can update your display name in settings, delete your generated sounds, and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data; contact us to exercise them.

8. Security

We use reputable providers and access controls to protect your data, including row-level security on our database and signed, time-limited URLs for downloading your sounds. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Questions or requests? Email support@unlocksfx.com.
