Asset Store: pending reviewInstallable now via GitHubUnity 2021.3 LTS+Free package

We've submitted UnlockSFX to the Unity Asset Store and it's currently in review. Until it's live you can install it from GitHub in under a minute — the steps are below.

What you can do

Generate in the Editor

Open the UnlockSFX window and dock it anywhere — the full workflow lives there: prompt, duration, format, variants, looping, a live credit balance, and a Listen preview.

Right-click Quick Generate

Right-click any folder in the Project window and pick “UnlockSFX: Generate here…” to drop a sound straight into it.

Variation banks

Generate 2–8 variants in one pass and drop them into an Audio Random Container (Unity 6) for no-repeat, pitch-varied playback — instant variety from a single prompt.

Seamless loops

Generate clips with no audible start or end for ambient beds and engine hums that loop forever.

Cleared to ship

Every clip is royalty-free for commercial use with no attribution. One-click Steam AI-disclosure snippet and a provenance record included.

WAV or MP3

Uncompressed WAV with no artifacts, or small ship-ready MP3. Clips import as AudioClips automatically when saved inside Assets/.

Unity plugin FAQ

How do I install UnlockSFX in Unity?

Two ways today: add it through the Unity Package Manager with “Add package from git URL,” or download and import the .unitypackage from the GitHub Releases. Then open Window → UnlockSFX. A one-click install from the Unity Asset Store is on the way.

Which Unity versions are supported?

Unity 2021.3 LTS and newer is recommended; the window works across recent Editor versions. The Audio Random Container output needs Unity 6 — on older versions you still get the individual variation clips to wire up yourself.

Are the sound effects royalty-free?

Yes. Every clip you generate is cleared for commercial use with no attribution required — the only limit is that you cannot resell the raw audio files on their own. The plugin also gives you a one-click Steam AI-disclosure snippet.

Is the plugin free?

The package itself is free. Generating sounds uses credits from your UnlockSFX account — roughly one credit per five seconds of audio, and you get free credits to start.

What audio formats can I export?

WAV or MP3. Sounds saved inside Assets/ import automatically as AudioClips; you can also save to any folder outside the project as raw files.
